After his adventure to the Lab, a lot of things had happened to Edward before his start on Route One. There was a small town right before the Route, and came across a strange looking man, that wouldn’t stop pestering him about this small Pokeball in his hands. It was a funny looking one, a bright blue with red stripes on it…And he was supposed to buy the thing from him, because he needed the money.
“I can’t believe I actually bought it…” He grumbled, sitting at the base of a tree to take a break from walking in the summer’s heat. The area was rather cruel to him, not even blessing him with a single breath of wind since he arrived here. Edward stared at the two Pokeballs in his hands, knowing which one held which because they looked so differently.
“Come on out.” He let out a gruff grunt as he probed the Pokeballs with his fingers. Technically he didn’t press the button to force them out, but instead the two came out willingly, surprising him with the flash of white light, and how the Pokeball’s suddenly became light.
“Chika…Chik chik…” The Chikorita was the first to come out, grinning a friendly smile at his new human. He hadn’t taken a good look at the man in the top hat yet, preferring to give his leaf a good stretch by twirling it around.
“….” The Snorunt could only shudder in this dreadful summer’s head, letting the bright colored cloak around it hang loosely off of its body. It was also a boy, a quiet and annoyed one at that. Edward had sensed the drastic differences between the two Pokemon, but decided to keep the introduction short and simple.
“Um…Hi everyone. I’m Edward, your new Trainer. You guys wouldn’t happen to have any names do you?” He questioned, his eyes meeting both the Snorunt and Chikorita with a amazement. It was so hard to believe that he was actually talking to them, and that they were able to understand him, even if he couldn’t understand what they were saying.
“Chikorita.”
“Snowrunt.”
“Chikorita and Snowrunt? Those are some good names.” He chuckled, not even realizing that giving them a nickname would be possible. But if they were called Snowrunt and Chikorita with their previous trainers, he didn’t and to be rude and suddenly change it.
