I feel so brilliantly today that perhaps I may fall ill from it. Is feeling too excited ever a bad thing? My body is twitching, my brain is rattling, my heart is screaming, and my stomach is....growling. Perhaps I need just a bit of nourishment before I conquer this fear. I doubt I can hardly call it a fear for it is also the key to all my future pleasure. Indeed. I speak of a pokemon. My journey begins the moment I step through that door.Leslie stopped writing and looked up slowly toward the door he spoke of. It seemed so distant and far off even if he was only a few feet from it. It made him wonder even more about this supposed journey. Perhaps the door seeming far off was a message? Something underlying. Like perhaps he was not ready for this commitment? The only problem with this was that he felt ready. He wanted with all his heart to be ready. It was settled at that moment. He was ready. He'd do this. My journey begins the moment I step through that door. he repeated in his head. Letting out a held breath, he closed the journal on his lap that he had written the passage in. He slipped the pencil through the attached loop and braced himself to stand up. He had found himself so weak lately that it was a terrible effort just to stand. He had come to the conclusion awhile ago that it was just his nerves. By his calm nature, you could easily tell that he was on his meds. There wasn't even the slightest hint of ADHD in his behavior. In fact, at the present moment, he was quite the opposite. I'm up and ready...I hope. he thought slowly as he finally managed to pull himself up. But my confidence has diminished. This was perhaps the one and only moment in his life when his confidence was gone. Well who wouldn't be nervous in this situation? Of course there were people who thought of only the excitement of receiving a pokemon. He even tried to think of the excitement, he really had, but it seemed impossible when that lingering thought tortured him. What if he chose wrong and ended up ruining his entire journey? Their was only one cure for his nerves. Music. Music wasn't just his cure or his little hobby, it was a part of him and had even merged with his personality, making him a completely new person. He listened to lyrics not only with his ears, but with his heart. His mind comprehended each word with such satisfaction that he felt more poetic and intelligent with each new song. The beat spoke to him throughout his entire body. Both Lyrics and Beat played an enormous part to him in whether he liked a song or not. If a song had neither [such as many rap songs] he couldn't bear listening and thought it a tragedy. He pushed the 'play' button on his Ipod and turned down the volume a bit since he would still have to hear the professor or assistant talk. It was obviously a song he liked or else it wouldn't have been on his Ipod. It gave him only a slight boost in confidence but even the smallest boost could help him. He approached the door and as he stood in front of it, it still remained distant. He inhaled sharply and finally exhaled when grasped the door handle. Even that was an accomplishment. Now to turn it. Huh? he thought as he found that he couldn't turn it. What was going on? Oh, sweaty palms... He marveled at how sweaty his hands were for a moment before smiling Something had suddenly come to his mind that chased away all of his nerves. It would just make the journey more interesting if he chose wrong. An interesting journey would surely be fun. He still wished to choose right, but he lost the fear of choosing wrong. He'd let his instincts and fate decide all of that. "Excuse me, I would like to come in and choose a pokemon, please." he said calmly and confidently as he creaked open the door a bit. Finally, it had begun. A New Beginning.

"Well. Hello!" The Professor said as he ushered the young boy in. "I'd just like to tell you, the Poster showing which Pokemon you can choose is over there." he said, pointing to a Poster with many shapes of Pokemon on it. He then walked into a room; quickly, so that he could get the starter pack. Boy, there's lots of people starting around here, he thought to himself, holding the door open for the boy. "Ah. Here's the Starter Pack. Yes." He held it to the boy for closer inspection. A starter pack!

[Could you please delete that previous post? I'd be extremely greatful]
"Well. Hello!"
That was a might proper greeting if he had ever heard one. Now if only he could reply back with something catchy and cool. Something that would set him apart from all the other trainers. The only problem was that it wasn't comming out. He couldn't speak at all. It was as if something was caught in his throat, making him physically in capable of speaking. Finally after nearly a minute or two, words poured out. "HELLO!" Okay. It was only one word and it didn't really pour out. Quite frankly, he screamed it at him. Leslie flushed over as he realized his mistake. He wouldn't have been suprized if the professor was a tad bit frightened by the outburst.
"I'd just like to tell you, the Poster showing which Pokemon you can choose is over there."
"Alright, thank you..." He spoke inaudibly now, afraid that he'd repeat his mistake and embarrass himself further. He hated how he was acting currently. He was most definately not himself. Normally he wouldn't have cared a bit on what the professor thought but right now it was as if it meant the world and would determine whether he got a pokemon or not. So much for first impressions, huh? Here the first impression meant everything, and everything was pretty dang important.
Leslie merely nodded and looked at the poster. He looked at it quite blankly for he already what pokemon he desired. A Chikorita of course. They were perhaps the cutest little things to him and the majority of them had a determined minset, just like him. It was the one that had stuck out to him when he first glanced at a list of starters back home on the internet. So the challenge for him wasn't to choose but instead to muster up the confidence to say so. He doubted that any other descision during the course of his life would be as hard to say as this.
He mumbled and stumbled over his words for a minute or two before finally saying something that sounded remotely like "A Female Chikorita, please." I said it... he thought as he swallowed hard. I sounded stupid but I said it. If he had no choice in gender, it didn't really matter Right now it seemed as if there was no greater joy than to lay his eyes upon his pokemon. All that was left now was to wait upon the professors command.
"Ah. Here's the Starter Pack. Yes."
"Oh, yes. Thank you." He grinned brightly as the generousity of the professor but nothing, not even a starter pack could distract him from waiting for his first pokemon. He clumsily put everything into his backpack except his pokedex. Clumsily only because his eyes remained on the professor. As for the pokedex, he slipped it into his hoodie pocket, opposite the Ipod.
Dangit, when was this anxiety going to end?

The Professor chuckled. He looked at the young lad's anxious face, and decided to get the Pokemon, quickly. "Sure, sure. A Chikorita it is." Winking, he disappeared behind a door and behind it, he found a few Pokeballs. Not sure which one was a female, he looked at the labels. Male, male, male, female! He grasped the female Chikorita Pokeball and hurried out of the back room. "Yes, yes. Here's your new Chikorita."Chikorita Attacks: Tackle, Growl, Grasswhistle Level: 5 Gender: Female Ooc: Here's the code for the Pokemon Starter Pack: Pokeball x5 Potion x3 Oran Berry x10 Pokemon Egg x1 Pokedex x1

"Yes, yes. Here's your new Chikorita."
In the moments before he said this, such as when he was fetching the Chikorita, were not really remembered by Leslie. He had been far too much in a daze and they passed too slowly. All that mattered now was that he had his prize. But as the professor said those words, Leslie imediately snapped into attention and glanced at the pokeball. That was it. That was what he had been waiting for his entire life. Without a moments hesitation, he took the pokeball into his own hands.
It felt so smooth and sleek, and he was desperate to open it, but of course he would not. He wanted the moment when he opened it to be just between him and the Chikorita, whatever he was to name it. That meant that he had to get out of this lab and onto route one as soon as possible, so that he could finally meet his destiny. "Well, sir, I bid you adieu." Without so much as another word, his active streak kicked in and he bolted out that door in a flash.
His journey was finally begining.

"Bye and-" The professor was cut short when the boy ran out of the door. What would I give to be that young again, he thought, shaking his head. Well, at least this was good. More people, more Pokemon to have fun and more Elite Four, right?
